Title: Prog no no's?
Post by: Matt Gillis on March 13, 2008, 11:28:35 AM
So here's a little creative excercise to keep us entertained:

We all know that everyone here loves prog. . . that's why we are here! For me there is nothing better than an extremely good prog song, or band, or Dominici. . . . err, that last one wasn't even in general, but whatever!

So here's the challange: When is prog NOT good? To kick it off I'll list some of my thoughts

1) A prog heartbeat
2) prog traffic lights

Etc. You get the idea. I wouldn't want either of those things operating in 25/16 time at odd syncopations! Have fun guys!  :tup

"When is prog NOT good?"

How about it's ALWAYS not good  :evil :evil

But here's the question - hitting it in 5/8 - good or bad?   :P

Prog TV cooking shows?

Imagine trying to sprinkle paprika in 5/8.

Not as hard as you might think. I sprinkle in 5/8 whenever I make deviled eggs.

I hate multiplying fractions with prog. I always manage to convert 6/5 to 5/8.

*steps out of bathroom*

Roommate:  What took you so long?  You were in there for half an hour!

Me:  Sorry, I was trying to take a dump in 5/8.  It took me a few minutes to get the rhythm down.

That would be awesome.
