Yes, this is one of those sad threads where I ask you for your support in some life-changing matter. This particular life-changing matter happens to be the DOMINICI Last.fm group. We have 6 members and we need 10 to get a chart going. For those of you who are not familiar with Last.fm it is a music site that produces a load of charts showing you what your tastes in music are and proceeds to make a list of recommended artists to listen to based on these charts. You can also do lots of other cool things like listen to music and talk to people. Once we get a chart going things will liven up a bit I think and it will be cool to see what kind of artists we all listen to! I am also hoping some of you will be willing to write articles on DOMINICI every so often. There is no other DOMINICI group on Last.fm so this is the official one you need to be joining in case you were wondering Wink

Here's the link: http://www.last.fm/group/Dominici

By no means do we want to stop at 10 members - the Dream Theater group has almost 3,700 members so let's see how fast DOMINICI can catch up!

Feel free to post here concerning anything to do with the DOMINICI group or Last.fm in general.

Already a member, too, thanks to VFS mentioning it on DTF.

And let's not forget about the Facebook group.

8 members now!two more and we can get charts going. I'll go ahead and make a page here on the site that has a last.fm radio player on it once that happens so that we can stream some DOMINICI tunes and other things that last.fm has available that matches our overall listening habits, assuming I get the go ahead for that.

I'll join, but last.fm doesn't exactly reflect my music listening for the past 3 years as I usually listen to music at work or on the way to or from work. At home I got a 1 year old baby girl who's whining for 3 hours straight after I get home, so no time for music then Wink After which I kinda prefer to enjoy a good movie over music anyways. But some tracks to lure themselves onto my last.fm anyways... And at least the existing profile will help create a profile for the group...

10 members and a fair few visitors (I can see who has visited and when as leader Smiley) so I anticipate more members to come! Important question - would be doing wrong if Dominici did not make the top of the chart? Should be interesting Tongue

I need to start listening to music on my computer again, it'd be number one in no time. I've had that CD in my car stereo for weeks now and it's almost always what I'm listening to when I go out running errands.

My five year old daughter even asked me to "save the song" for her when I brought her to school the other day, so she wouldn't miss anything

How exactly does the chart work?  Isn't it supposed to be the combined playcounts of all the group's members?

Yup, updated weekly. Theoretically. I haven't checked it out in awhile, though I do have my music playing on my computer now. Not such good sound as my stereo but benefits the charts, and I still have music on.

Something's wrong.

In Top Artists
Dominici plays last week:  4

In Top Tracks
So Help Me God:  3
March Into Hell:  3
Liquid Lightning:  3

Those three songs alone are wayyy more than 4.   Huh?

I think each person that has played Dominici contributes one play no matter how many times they listen, and the same goes for each track. So it seems here that  4people played Dominici in the group last week and 3 of those listened to each of those tracks.

This week's chart sees Dominici still 4th but this time joint with Opeth. However, Dominici's Enemies Of God is the top track this week. New members are always welcome as we only have 12 at the moment
