Something like that, yeah.
Its proof that men still control the dictionaries.

That is, by far, the grammatical mistake I make most often.
I cannot, for the life of me, ever remember which one I'm supposed to use.

it's always the contraction that gets the apostrophe

Well, I "know" the rule... the problem is that I always forget the rule.

Apostraphe goes where the missing letter(s) are.

It is = It's

That is = that's

He is = he's

Should have = should've (NOTE THIS IS NOT SHOULD OF IT"S SHOULD (HA)VE) <-- pet peeve

Believe me.  I understand the concept perfectly well.
I just always forget which one gets the apostrophe and which one doesn't.  There's no logical reason why the possessive form of "its" doesn't have an apostrophe in it, other than "that's the rule", so I tend to forget which one of the two follows the normal rules of English grammar, and which one is the quirky exception.

So whats a "Dangling Participle" then?
Oh by the way, Happy Monthiversary EVERYONE!

PS. so if you were referring to "Cousin It" from the Adams family(or is it Adam's family) you would say "Its" or "It's"
Example:
It's is not coming to the party.
Or:
Its isn't it's own worst enemy but it isn't Its fault. It's just that its not its monthiversary so it's
understandable that it's its decision not to come to it.

I'd provide an example of a dangling participle, but it would probably get me banned
