What the Jenkins?!

WWW
« on: April 21, 2008, 04:02:48 PM »

So I've spent a couple hours today trying to condense my life into two suitcases and a backpack because I'm flying back home on Thursday.

And I decided to take a break and get some air.  So I figured, while I was outside, I'd check the mail.

O3 Part 2 came.  I'd actually given up on it, it'd been so long since I ordered it.  I figured I'd pick it up at FYE in a couple weeks.  But it's a good thing it arrived when it did, because if it'd been three days later, I'd have been long gone.

In Review:

O3:  A Trilogy - Part 2
Shipped From:  Pittsburgh, PA
Shipped To:  Provo, UT
Ordered:  March 5
Delivered:  April 21

But I can listen to it now!

you know, UPS stands for "Unsatisfying Pace of Shipment"

next time you order something, maybe do it via an online casino  Grin

Where is your actual home?

But seriously, talk about a miraculous event! That was like a month and a half that it took to get there, yet when it did, it arrived in perfect time. Oh well, don't ask questions, just listen!

And all this time I thought UPS stood for something else!  I'm thinking next time I order something I'll use one of those shady, disreputable sites that you get when you misspell a famous company's URL.  If that doesn't work, I'll definitely try that online casino idea.

I'm a born and raised Pennsylvanian, by the way.  I live about an hour outside of Philadelphia.  And, for the record, Pennsylvania is WAY better than Utah in almost every way imaginable.

So I've had a lot of stuff to do what with packing and throwing out or giving away approximately half of the things I own, so I've only had one chance so far to sit down and listen to it all the way through.  It's pretty good.  I think it'll grow on me, but I bet Part 3 will remain my favorite.

Did you order it from IOM the first time?

I need to know so I can rip them a new asshole on this.

I think I may have ordered it from the wrong IOM website or something.  I know they used to have the .com and the .de ones, and apparently they've switched them over.  I think I ordered it from .com before they had it redirect to .de.

And for some reason my account didn't transfer.  My email address doesn't have an account on the insideout.de online store.  Which meant that I couldn't check the status of my order at all.  Which made it all very confusing.

I suppose I could have tried emailing IOM or something to try and figure out what was going on.  But I figured I'd just buy it again later so I didn't want to go through the hassle.

So yeah.  Very confusing.  You don't have to rip them a new asshole (Cheesy), but it would be nice to get some kind of assurance that, if I ever use their online store again, it'll work.  For now, I'm a little hesitant to order anything from them.

In the end, it doesn't matter that much.  In the future, I'll probably be able to find all the IOM stuff I need at Best Buy or Amazon.com.

Yeah, my CD from IOM only took like, maybe 10-14 days, which isn't bad coming from Germany. The problem I had, was the fact that they literally ripped me off. All I wanted to do was buy part 2, and so they said I needed a minimum of a 25 EURO shipment. That's pretty pricy to begin with, but I just went with it. So after two CDs I fufilled my 25 Euro requirement, but then they slapped a 10 euro shipping fee on it.

So to make a long story short, I am hesitant to buy from them as well, not because of timliness, but more because they charged me over $80 for two CDs. Not saying part 2 isn't worth $40, I'm just saying that that's pretty steep compared to wherelse you can buy it.

Yep, US dollars and Canadian dollars are pretty close, that's what I thought.  80 bucks for two CDs is very very uncool.

But just out of curiosity, what was the other CD you decided to order?

I really think that's a terrible thing.

Sanctus Ignis by Adagio. I already "owned" it, but it was a burnt copy from my friend, and I felt guilty, so I bought it again  I'm trying not to kill the industry my future is in, and I don't really mind giving Adagio some more money since I like them a lot.
