Well, I am in the process of getting ready for my prom. I am mostly ready, but rather than sit around in a tux for 3 hours before I leave to go to dinner, I'd rather sit down and make some music for awhile

Now I am taking a break from working on music stuff, to waste some time on the forum. My whole reason for posting is that, well, I got to thinking, and seeing as I am graduating in 2 days, and my prom is tonight, that means highschool is pretty much in the past for me. I'm not getting all sappy (I've avoided those whole "oh no highschool is over, *crying*" thoughts for months now) but I mean, I guess this is the inflection point of my reasoning, where a transition exists between highschool experiences and highschool memories. I'm more than ready to make the change, but its just an odd thought, you know?

For those of you who don't know (But I think you all do) I'm pursuing my dream of music in post secondary education, so that pretty much means I'll be doing my passion for the rest of my life, in one form or another anyway. And of course, that next "big step" means a lot of thinking goes into it. That said, I'd like to ask all of you (or at least the highschool graduates amongst us) what your highschool memories are like? And has life unfolded for you the way you thought it would back then?

So far it's been unfolding as I thought.

Ohh high school... I remember getting suspended for having a cellphone on me.

For real? That's bullshit! (Here at least)

my favorite memory so far (i'm gonna be a junior in september) is from this past year during spirit week. The seniors put a banner consisting of numerous sheets of printer paper, one for each letter. Guess where they put it? On top of the sophomore's (our) sign on the footbridge railing in the main lobby.  the sign said, "CLASS OF 08"
so me and my buddy made a plan during lunch, then he snuck out of his class soon after, and i snuck out of mine. we went on top of the bridge, waited for it to be all clear, we had to vandalize this sign without attracting the attention of the "security guard" directly below us. After hyperventilating with the thought of getting caught, i plucked up courage, and tore off the printer sheet with the "C" on it. My buddy took off the "L". we didn't get caught! :badass
And guess what the sign said, thats right:
ASS OF 08

just one of my many misadventures Cool

No offense or anything, but Puerto Rican schools sound way too strict for my taste (or the taste of any American teenager). or maybe we're too liberal? idk

Don't take my example for ALL Puertorican schools, they're not strict, just that one I was used to make a fuzz about every stupid thing. It was a college (colleges here are private schools with a religious affiliation) that took the religious part waaaaaaayyyyy to far.

And the phone thing was: "OMG!! You could have porn there!!!" "Satan!!"

Yeah. Fuck 'em, fuck 'em all to hell.

That's one thing I don't miss about high school.

Well, I cut out of school during my Junior and Senior years a lot. I only stayed for Concert and Marching Band, which were 4th and 5th periods. So I don't remember too much lol. My high school was (and still is) extremely overpopulated, so lots of my memories are going to friend's classes, and I have lots of band memories. My favorite memory is graduation. My other band geek friends and I walked down the isle first, then we picked up our instruments and started playing for everyone else. I had tears in my eyes, I was so happy to be done.

No, life hasn't unfolded for me the way I thought it would. Its been 4 years since I graduated. I went to a local community college on and off for nearly 4 years until I found what I wanted to do. As you know, I'm training to be an EMT. It took me 3 and a half years to figure out what I wanted to do.

I failed a lot of college classes. Mainly because I skipped class a lot.

Just stick to your plan and you'll be fine. Don't skip class, and party in moderation. College isn't like high school. Noone cares what you do, you're on your own.

hmm high school memories.. I graduated from lovely breaux bridge high school in breaux bridge louisiana in 98. I lived there as an exchange student for my senior year. I got detention for drawing an (imo) great portrait of marilyn manson during lunch break (bad austrian satan girl). prom was great. at the afterparty I made love with a wonderful guy (bad bad austrian satan girl) when I got back home I had another year of school to do (my high school in austria lasted 5 years) .. but it was ok, since I've always been having good grades without much effort (maybe that's why I'm still studying  Grin) btw, my favorite class was american history tought by football coach Arcenaux. half the football team took this class and so the subject regularly swapped from wars to gaming strategies (not much difference anyway, imo)
