Good idea.

Also from DTF and all its previous incarnations (and, to a lesser extent, MP.com and VUK);
100% Long Islander (Originally Port Jeff Station, currently Huntington), with three years upstate in Ithaca, NY;
25 years old (26 in a few weeks);
Lawyer (pending bar admission, which occurs on March 5th);
And if you prefer real names over silly usernames, you can call me Chris.

Well, that's probably because DTF is where its gotten the most promotion so far.

But there are already others filtering in as well.

And, just as a head's up, we have no intention of letting this place turn into "DTF, part 2".  Generally speaking, the discussion will be steered more towards Dominici related discussion and other discussion that is generally somehow relevant to the main focus.

Cwolfe here, from DTF.org and DTF.com (though I posted a few times back on DT.net under a different username)

I'm a graduate student in Physics at Lehigh University in PA, and I'm also happily married.

Damnit, it looks like I'm just too late being one of the first 50, so I won't get the nifty "Forum Elder" title.  Sad

Yeah, I like the Physics department, and the campus is really pretty.  The undergrads can be a bit pushy and snobbish sometimes (many of them come from money, while I really don't), but there are a lot of really smart people here

Oh yeah.  That's one thing I still remember from visiting my dad's work when I was a kid:  it's a beautiful spot.  Really green, but that's the east coast for ya.  If I remember correctly, isn't the campus kind of tucked back behind a whole bunch of trees?  Like, you drive through a bit of a forest and suddenly it opens onto this massive, gorgeous clearing with a university in the middle?

I'm 21 years old, live in Almada (a modest region of Portugal).....I'm mainly a Prog fanatic, but listen to alot of different styles of metal/rock, which include everything from Black Metal, to Power Metal, Cello Rock (yup you guessed it, Apocalyptica), some Death Metal, and even softer stuff like Seal, among many many other stuff I listen to.

What else can I say...I'm into graphics design (some should already be aware of that), Anime, and Computer Informatics. Also an avid Magic: the Gathering player.

Hi I'm new here.  Was looking for a Introduce Yourself thread but couldn't find any.  So I thought I'd set one up so that others can use it as well.

I hail from London even though I am originally from Mauritius.  I have been into Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and it's many derivatives since I was 11 years old.  The first band I listened to was EUROPE with the album The Final Countdown.  I came across Dominici's music whilst browsing some other band's myspace and was instantly blown away by The Calling and the other tracks that were on offer.  I got the O3 Part II CD and really enjoyed it from beginning to end.  I'm looking forward to hear the new album.  From the two tracks I heard from myspace it sounds like a 'Monster'!

Hi forgottenglory, you immediately get a for the Europe mention!

There's a thread around here somewhere that served as an introduction thread for awhile but it had an odd thread name and I don't remember what it was, so I'm glad you made this!

Welcome, and yes, part 3 is awesome!!

Thanks for the welcome!  I really enjoy Brian Maillard guitar wizardry.  I'm really surprised that I never heard of him before....the other guys are really good as well but the guitar sound is what jumps to the surface.

hello forgotten glory and welcome to this place of doom and evil

this locality is being reigned by a chaste webmistress who will not forbear any wrongdoings. She conducts her command under the subordinate of the allmighty master of heavy music whose word is law and who amongst all others is to be praised!!

Cool.  Welcome!

And I see you were listening to the new Firewind album.  Awesome!  Cheesy

How ironic that this is the second introduction thread.

Am I the only one who's noticed that all the replies are now titled "Re: Introduce Yourself"?

Yes...I just got into Firewind with The Premonition.  Awesome band...saw them live in London last week.  Killer set...I think they stole Kamelot's thunder.

every reply is titled Re: etc.

Yes, I know.  But how often does the "Re" work as an ironic prefix?

And curse you for merging the threads!  The prefix is ruined!!!

There can be no forgiveness for this. Grin
