No, I don't think he has, I wouldn't expect him to. I'm sure over the course or tours he meets so many people it really would be difficult for him to remember people.

He probably doesn't even recognize ME, and I'm one of the only prog chicks I know Tongue (just kidding - but he probably doesn't, and I met him at a Marillion show in 05 i think it was, after Score at RCMH in 06, at that PT show that I brought Nick backstage with me at in 06 or 07, and at the DT show backstage last October...I think that's it. Not sure anymore... but yeah, i bet he doesn't recognize me, even with me doing the coding of the forum for hte prognation website!)

From the Symphony X show on Sunday. Cheesy

Awesome!!

 Grin brilliant !!
BOTH of these mikes were at the show?? ok, the upper mike I'd expect but the lower one??

That's really awesome Nick. Your really lucky (or really skilled!) to meet such great people. Is it usually random when you guys (because I know a lot of our members meet people, as evidenced in the other thread!) meet band members, or do you get "VIP" status for the many skills that you folks seem to harbour and let people like me randomly find out over the months *cough*blob*cough* ?

Funny thing is I've now met Portnoy 4 times and I've only met another member of the band once.

It's not really that weird, is it?  I mean, you and Portnoy live in approximately the same area and like to attend the same kinds of shows.  So you're bound to bump into each other every now and then, right?

Some random, most from staking out the tour bus after a show, no VIP for skills, and a little bit of who ya know.

Argh, I just realized that when I made my last post, my incompetence must have caused the last quote to delete all the other answers to various things

Oh well, I'll type replies again soon, seeing as I can't seem to recover the lost text. Maybe we can call Indiana Jones to help? Man, that's the PERFECT situation for this smiley:  !

@Matt - Over the years it's usually been luck. Just going to shows and getting there early and waiting in line or just running into people. Recently I've been fortunate enough to get a few backstage passes thanks to Jen. The only time I ever payed to meet someone was Gigantour, and the only reason I did that is because if you bought The Odyssey, you got to meet Symphony X. At the time I didn't own The Odyssey, wanted it a lot so I grabbed it and got it signed by all the guys and got to have a short convo with everyone.

Now I have my radio show www.wpapu.com, and altho it isn't a reason I do it, I hope at some point in the future that will get me an interview or two with a few of my heroes. Only time will tell.

Cool, Threshold is a great band.

If you could please shrink that sig a bit. You can have pictures in a 600x120 area plus a line of text. Thanks. Smiley

Ah...the dreaded Threshold question to which the simple answer is GET THEM ALL!  OK that was not very helpful but Threshold is one of the rare bands I would recommend getting all their albums because they are that good.

Click HERE for a list of their full discography.

But everybody needs to start somewhere.  So I would recommend Hypothetical which is a favourite of many fans.

The poster is for their new album Dead Reckoning.  It does indeed remind Transatlantic but there is an epic journey of self dicovery behind that cover.

Even if I were gay and into fat hairy men, I still would find Michael Romeo repulsive.

But I am a little jealous that you got to meet him, dech.  I mean, he is a pretty good guitarist for a pretty good band.  Cool pic.  Just be glad your expression isn't as dumb as his.   Tongue
